Rwanda opens new border post with Uganda

The general direction of immigration and emigration in Rwanda announced the opening of this new border post on July 5, 2023. The new post will not only boost trade between the two countries but also prevent illegal trade which affects the economies of the two countries for years. This new crossing has been operational since 2007 following the observation of illegal movements of the population but was then closed following development work.The new border post is located in the Rwempasha sector in the Nyagatare district
